About
Welcome to The Great Baseball Blog. Thanks for stopping by. Here we talk about everything baseball-related in pretty much any way we can think of. You can reach us at greatbaseballblog@gmail.com or find us at Twitter under the name “greatbaseball.” We post weekly or so, three posts at a time.
Here’s what to expect:
• Bundles of content
The best bloggers can write something every day. I am not one of these people. Instead, I plan to “bundle” posts on a single topic for (I hope) weekly publication. The easiest way to follow will be to sign up for our Twitter updates, which will both trumpet our updates and feature random baseball thoughts.
• All types of content
There are blogs for baseball teams, baseball stats, and virtually everything baseball-related. We hope to bring all of that here (see our thesis statement for more). Essays, charts, comics, fiction, you name it—it’ll be here. We like to create things, and we hope you’ll like them.
• Both the “I” and the royal editorial we
It’s my hope that this blog eventually expands beyond its current authorship of one, but all posts will be made by those who understand and appreciate what we’re trying to do; that is, I may write something, but I hope the blog represents some sort of community, and thus I’ll be using the editorial “we” most of the time. I and we thank you for your understanding.
• Non-baseball posts?
We’re not sure yet, but we we’ve set a tall order for ourselves with that blog name, and we intend to live up to it.
• Yeah, about that…
We have things to say, and we hope they’re interesting. The “Great” in the title really refers to the greatness of the game; that is, we hope to blog about everything “Great” about baseball, and be a place to appreciate those things. We also think such a moniker will keep us honest. Nothing here will be posted for the sake of posting. These things have Thought. Cogent thought? That’s for you to decide.
• Who are you again?
My name is Bryan and for the moment I encourage you to just read my stuff and not worry about it. I’m sure the bio will fill itself in.
• Any other hypothetical questions you feel like answering?
I can’t say that there are at the moment, but feel free to email me at greatbaseballblog@gmail.com if you have actual questions. I’ll be happy to answer them. And thanks for reading—if you’ve gotten this far, you deserve a cookie. Ask me for one and it’s yours.
